This year the Canadian Insurance Conference is continuing the ongoing theme of Change, with a focus on “Action”— or more pointedly “Re-Action” — in terms of how the industry has been changing in order to remain relevant.
The conference will kick off with Canada’s acclaimed Astronaut, Colonel Chris Hadfield, the First Canadian Commander of the International Space Station. Chris’ commitment, intelligence, sacrifice and hard work allowed him to achieve his dreams. A true inspiration! Join the us in welcoming Chris as he imparts some of the lessons he’s learned throughout his remarkable career – in the fields of leadership, teamwork, collaboration, science, and technology – in space and on Earth. This is a not to be missed presentation!
The panel will be moderated by Carrie Lam, Assistant Vice President, Strategy and Client Experience for Munich Re, Canada (Life).
It is still early to assess the impact of the changes the industry has undertaken, but early results are promising. The industry’s activities are much like the moon landing in that NASA developed a deliberate plan to prepare for a moon landing, and that plan was not accomplished in a single step. There were many building blocks and steps to NASA’s plan, and in many ways, the life insurance industry is following similar steps and lessons.
