A smoothly functioning IT is essential for a company in order to keep pace with digital transformation and to prevail against the competition from new market players. Especially in the insurance industry, providers are facing fiercer competition as a result of various digitalization trends. Therefore, it is crucial that IT processes run optimally within the company and that appropriate interfaces are available. This is how the basis for successful business activities is created.
A Swiss Q_PERIOR client from the insurance industry had set the goal of increasing the maturity level of its IT processes by setting up an IT process landscape. In this context, it was also planned to clearly define the responsibilities and interfaces within the IT structure. For the implementation of this plan, in a first step, Q_PERIOR analyzed, together with the persons responsible in the insurance company, the relevant processes and their degree of maturity. Thereafter, best practice applications and innovative process models were considered in order design various action scenarios based on this. Finally, the steering committee chose the most suitable approach. Sub-processes were defined in workshops, KPIs were identified and change-management measures developed.
